well this past thursday i went in to the evening not expecting much, since iv'e been getting up at 1am to go to work the previous three days i was exhausted. so since im bowling my worst since i can remember (averaging 142 for the first 7 weeks), i go into thursdays with less enthusiasm than usual. well i started with a 182! woo hoo, i had 53 after the fifth frame so i told myself to relax and stop "thinking". so i found a shot and i had a four bagger to save the game. the second game i dropped off quite a bit with a 129. i didnt bowl as bad as the score showed as i left many a ten pin and failed at converting any of them:(:(. the second game i started using my radical inferno(i was using the fury the first two games)and it carried many a strike for me as i finished with a 200, with out making just one five-pin spare. the fourth and final game i bowled a 151, not too impresive but again it was my spare-shooting that killed me. our team won 20-5 and i won three out of four games and series. this is our second straight week taking 20 points and i think we might be making a move, finally.

well, after averaging 193 at rolling meadows amf, i decided to change my approach for better timing. i always released the ball before i slid with my left foot (i'm a righty) and it felt akward but many people said "averaging 193 is good enough!" but i felt that i bowled well despite my timing, not because of it. so i started the pushaway on my second step of my 4 step approach and it definitely has affected my average. i went to averaging in the mid 180's to 169 at the end of the summer, and im at a whopping 140 at poplar creek bowl! but ive been going every day for the past 2 weeks and two days ago i bowled 1092 for six games (182 avg) then i bowled 1222 yesterday! i feel that my approach has gone from thinking about every step to being second nature. this sunday im bowling at rolling meadows and i hope i can put up some big numbers!(im at 142 after 2 weeks:(

another sunday, another pizza and pitcher league night passes and it was a so-so evening. up to 2 hours before league, i was under the impression that league night was cancelled due to easter. but on a hunch i called the bowling alley and they said that league wasn't cancelled so i called one of my teammates and we showed up to bowl the blind team, since there's only five teams in our league!! we won the first game handily with an 862 with handicap for 4 bowlers!!WOO HOO. i was the only one below average with a 152:(, but game two i started with 2 spares and ended up with a 246 with an open eighth frame(missed a freakin' ten pin which i went to the alley to practice for on friday and did rather well!!)but we didnt do so hot the last game and lost by 39 but we took 5 out of 7 and we might have climbed out of third, hopefully with my 574 series i'm still at 191, but i stayed after to bowl three more games with some friends and had a 615 or 620 somewhere in between. just waiting for thursdays trio league at poplar creek bowl and hope we can get out of third place!! well good evening and i hope everyone had a happy easter!!

well hello everybloody!! we went 18 and 7 but the first place team won at least 23 points so we still lost ground. i ended up with a 739 in four games, mike, our anchor had 799 and matt, our sub for marty, his brother had a 724. we bowled against the team who won the first half so they're already in the final. i felt i had a good ball rolling through three games: (215-170-198) but the last game i made an adjustment because the last few balls in the tenth of game three were a little high, even though i had strikes. so i left the 2-8 a few times and when i moved back to my original spot i was coming in high again and a few missed ten pins later i ended with a 156 and ended up losing that game and series:(:(!! matt finished with a 223 and mike had a 190 but it wasnt enough for us to win game four, well as they always say, there's always next week!!

well, it was a less than enjoyable evening as we went 0-7!! we were only in first by 1 point so it's needless to say that we dropped a few spots, i just bought some new bowling shoes today and i came back from trying them out, it has the interchangable soles and heels and little did i realize that the soles aren't neccesarly flat, they have a pronounced ball-of the-foot sole to them that took some getting used to. well i hope it doesnt affect my bowling on thursday. oh, and by the way, i had a 524 on sunday. mediocre, but not horrible.
